Making a Difference
As more consumers and businesses are "going green" to help preserve our natural environment and resources, Awiai is also exploring & implementing environmentally-friendly practices, servicing our shareholders and clients requires administrative. Maintenance and housekeeping efforts and our green efforts permeate each facet of the business.
Green Energy
In early 1993. Awiai's North American offices became 100% green energy provided by our own safe, green and reliable power.
Energy Efficient
In 2005 Began replacing the common incandescent and reflector flood bulbs in our factories and offices with energy-saving CFL bulbs and educating staff about the importance of recycling them according to EPA guidelines. Compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs) save a significant amount of energy, which is compounded by the number and size of homes that we maintain in our property management program.
Keeping Our Space Green
Awiai's crews use a collection of bulk cleaning products that are centrally dispensed into refillable bottles thereby reducing packaging waste. With tens of crews in force and each with multiple types of cleaning products, we are saving a lot of high density plastic from ever-burdened landfills.

Paperless Processes
Our paperless processes save an estimated 100.000 sheet of paper per
year. spare the planet the carbon that would be produced in their transport &
delivery. and ultimately reduce waste.

Sent electronically. The day's of two copies of multiple pages for report are
Over! Awiai's agreement. Report and documentation are now easily
executed and viewable online on our Microsoft SharePoint based system . In
addition. the documentation process with client is also sent electronically
which also streamlines internal processing.
- While we still file original paper copies of agreement all other
collaboration. Documentation. And report are 100% digital and sent
electronically through various forms across the Internet Erie it
Keyless entry technology consenres energy in offices and factories by
automatically setting environmental controls. Before. During and after
Occupancy.
- Awiai helped develop a customized keyless entry system with
environmental control features that reduce energy consumption during times
of vacancy. The system recognizes when a space is not going to be occupied
and automatically adjust the heat / AC thermostat to their preprogrammed
"Occupied" and "unoccupied" settings. Occupied settings include a lower limit
Override of 72 degrees to maintain a more constant temperature and avoid
ovennorking the HVAC system. In addition. hot water heaters are setto
"standby" to avoid expending the energy required to keep many gallons of
water hot when no one is there to use it.
- Using a variety of Power Company and Department of Energy
sources. we estimate an average cost savings of 10% on typical annual power
bills. Currently. almost 100 of our vacation rental homes offer this amenity.
- Our day-to-day office practices include recycling and use of recycled
and biodegradable paper product. The Awiai team continues to find ways to
work smarter and find ways to reduce our impact on the earth.

Awiai Group S.A. is committed to an environmentally responsible corporation and is working closely with all stakeholders to plan and implement sustainable and green best practices. The intent of this environmental statement is to inform and educate our stakeholders of the actions being taken at Awiai a carbon neutral or positive by minimizing our environmental footprint and offsetting what cannot be reduced any further.
Environmental Initiatives :
- Elimination of pesticide usage on grounds.
- Diversion of recyclables: including cardboard, glass, cans, plastic, organic waste.
- Reduction of packaging with produce suppliers to avoid cardboard usage.
- Reduction of usage of harmful products for the environment (bleach, drain openers etc.).
- Implementation of a recycling committee to control our recycling program.
- Addition of bicycle racks to encourage staff to bike to work.
- Member of the "Seafood Watch Program" (we do not serve endangered fish species).
Energy :
- Implementation of Energy Management Systems for heating and air conditioning.
- Installation of digital thermostats in guest rooms with programmable set back heating and cooling temperatures.
- Installation of electric pilots on gas stoves to encourage chefs to turn off gas.
Water Savings :
- Replacement of traditional toilet tanks with low consumption" water-saver flush tanks in public washrooms.

- Introduction of water-saver flush tanks in public washrooms.
Waste reuse, recycle and Reduction
- Inform stakeholders of waste reduction and recycling programs by promoting environmental awareness.
- Separate waste at the source for future recycling. Provide visible bins.
- Use appropriate recycling bins in all areas. Place in central location. Readily available and clearly labeled.
- Give purchasing priority to recyclable and post-consumer recycled products.
- Use dry mark eraser boards rather than paper in presentations.
