In 1967 Awiai completed the architectural, engineering and construction documentation for the JF Kennedy high school in Barstow, California. Then again in 1971 Awiai completed the Glendale high school in Glendale, California. The firm then expended its educational services to include the childcare center for the US Department of Air Force in 1988. The project included the construction of a 18,000+/- sq. ft. facility of reinforced concrete foundation, floor slave and structural support, masonry walls and metal roofing. The facility includes areas for infants, pre-toddler, pre-school age, youth areas, isolation room, lobby, offices, laboratory, audio visual kitchen, laundry, dining room, latrine, support space and related area. The facility is designed to be fully air conditioned. Also included are utilities, fence in playground and required appurtenances for a complete and usable facility.
