Initial military operation of Awiai began in 1965 and were exclusively for the United States Military Bases in the Philippines, Japan, Thailand, Korea and Vietnam. These projects included housing, schools, hospitals, roads, waterworks, power systems, POL storage, communications networks, runways and airport facilities, ammunition storage and related base facilities, at installations such as Subic NAVSTA, Clark AB, Wallace AS, John Hay AS, Cubi Point NAS, Mactan AB and San Miguel NCS. Repeat assignments were then provided in 1987 for the US Department of the Navy, Subic Bay, Philippines including complete design engineering preparation and contract documentation for vehicle wash platform and powerplant. Currently Awiai is undertaking a detailed engineering design on water, wastewater, gas and electrical utility privatization at Macdill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.
