The project covers the development of two town in Sorsogon, namely Irosin and Juban. It has a population of about 650,000; it has some 3,600 hectares of fertile lands suited to rice production. Schistosomiasis is prevalent in the area. It also has no adequate irrigation and transportation network facilities. Feasibility study includes the construction of flood control system on areas frequently subjected to flooding. The area were investigated and defined; provisions of Drainage and Irrigation system; a Farm to Market Roads was prposed Complementary Programs where other components studied watershed protection, water supply and schistosomiasis control; Economic/Financial Analysis of the various major and complementary programs were also conducted.
